East Region News – Matt Jenkins
Since the beginning of the fiscal year the East region has seen a tremendous amount of change. Through mergers and acquisitions we had several customer consolidate into one; we picked up over 400 Circle K sites; Sunoco reduced their vendor count from 5 to 1 making us the primary account for service and light construction; and we saw significant growth in our construction group.
Some highlights of the quarter were:
- The construction of the OnCue flagship site outside of the Phillips 66 headquarters (this project included our first ever Gilbarco E900 dispensers along with Passport Kiosk POS units)
- Ron Billmyre did a great job in representing D&H United by creating the EMV playbook used by Love’s for their nationwide EMV upgrade project (see Glenn Farmer’s customer spotlight). Ron also acted as project manager for the East region for this project which including working on sites in Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and even Missouri.
- Our sales team continued to capitalize on the EMV push with dispenser sales and POS upgrades. Our warehouses are packed with new dispensers waiting to be installed.
The Houston office celebrated our employees with a cookout after several weeks of post hurricane work. Most of the branch’s service coverage area from Victoria, Texas into central Louisiana were ravaged by storms. Storm preparation, generator installations, and post clean-up work created weeks of extended hours for everyone. All this was accomplished with zero injuries and no loss or damage to equipment or vehicles. Denis Chaney, the Houston branch Operations Manager, also took this opportunity to share the exciting news that the Houston team would be moving into a bigger facility after the first of the year!
