D&H United Colorado (Kubat) Equipment’s Safety Program: Proactive Measures for a Secure Workplace
In industrial operations, safety isn’t just a priority; it’s a fundamental value. At Kubat Equipment, this ethos isn’t merely a slogan—it’s a way of life. Embracing a proactive stance towards safety, Kubat’s approach is centered around preventing incidents before they occur rather than reacting after the fact. Our Near Miss/Good Catch program exemplifies this commitment to proactive safety, a cornerstone of our safety philosophy.
The Near Miss/Good Catch program is more than just a bureaucratic exercise; it’s a proactive initiative that relies on the vigilance and active participation of our employees. It’s aimed at identifying and addressing potential hazards lurking in the workplace before they escalate into full-blown incidents. By encouraging you, our employees, to report near misses and possible hazards, Kubat Equipment not only demonstrates its commitment to safety but also fosters a culture of awareness and vigilance among its workforce.
“Our goal is to do everything we can to raise safety awareness among all of our valued employees,” says Terri Anderson, the designated safety captain at Kubat Equipment. We love these Kubat/D&H faces and want to keep them just the way they are. Awareness is caring!”
The bi-weekly reports sent out by the safety captain are not just another piece of information; they are a vital communication channel that keeps you, our employees, informed about reported incidents and near misses. Every Friday, the spotlight is shone on one or two of the pictures submitted by employees, highlighting the importance of your reports and encouraging a collective effort towards maintaining a safe work environment.
“I feel like it’s good for all to know what is being reported and by whom,” adds Anderson. This can encourage us all to keep an eye out and bring some issues we may not have thought of to light.
At Kubat Equipment, safety is not solely the responsibility of the safety captain or management; it’s a team effort. We actively encourage each and every one of you to contribute your ideas and suggestions, fostering a collaborative approach towards achieving our common goal of an accident/incident-free workplace.
“We are working as a team to drive safety and encourage ideas and suggestions as we work toward an accident/incident-free workplace goal, ” Anderson emphasizes. “Safety is a daily process, and through Tyfoom and our monthly safety meetings, we are encouraging and reinforcing a culture of better driving habits and overall practices that will get us all home to our families each night, as well as back on the job the next morning.”
By leveraging tools like Tyfoom and conducting regular safety meetings, Kubat Equipment reinforces the importance of safety as an integral part of daily operations. Through these initiatives, employees are empowered to prioritize safety not just as a set of rules to follow but as a fundamental value guiding their actions on and off the job.
Kubat Equipment’s safety program embodies a proactive approach aimed at preventing incidents and ensuring the well-being of its employees. By fostering a culture of awareness, collaboration, and continuous improvement, Kubat Equipment safeguards our workforce and sets a standard for excellence in industrial safety practices.
