Charging into the Future
As a new member of the D & H United family, I want to introduce myself and express my excitement about joining the team. My name is Trisha Windell, and I am the new Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Business Development Manager. The past five years, I worked in electrical construction hyper-focused on electric vehicle chargers, utility rebate programs, federal funding, and all stages of construction required for EV infrastructure. I have a deep passion for this industry and the future of construction in this space. I am thrilled to be part of a talented and dedicated D&H team.
Recently, we engaged with an outside consultant to help us refine the EV strategy for D&H. I would like to share with you a few important insights from our strategy. First, we will focus our attention on the installation and service of Level 3 or DC fast chargers since most of the industry growth for the next 10 years will be in this area. Second, the EV charging infrastructure must be built in the next 10-15 years, requiring extensive electrical installation and construction. Service remains an important part of our growth, but we must expand our teams for EV installation. Finally, we must improve our relationships with the companies that operate the charging networks known as Charge Point Operators or CPO’s. Today, the CPO’s make most of the decisions regarding both installation and service so it is critical that we develop these relationships.
The EV charging industry continues to grow exponentially driven by the growth in vehicle sales and the need to build out a charging infrastructure across the country. I will focus initially on winning EV charging installation projects with charge point operators and contractors throughout our footprint. I will leverage the many industry contacts I developed over the past five years to expand the long-term relationships we need to rapidly grow our EV business. Currently, we have a backlog of more than $4M of projects under contract and our 2024 sales revenue budget is nearly $10M.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas. Thank you for your welcome, and I look forward working with you!
