West Region News – Sid Jenkins

With the end of our second quarter also came the end of 2020. It was a tough year for us all with a worldwide pandemic that caused economic strains for many businesses, a disruption in the oil & gas industry and also a country politically divided. We should all be thankful we work for an essential business and our business is doing great. All I can say is – Good Riddance 2020!

2nd QTR UPDATES

Midland Branch – probably the hardest hit office because of the oil decline has still maintained high margins. Even though the revenue has declined, Victor Lueras and his team were able to keep the office profitable. Way to go Midland!

  • Lubbock/Amarillo Branch – with the relationship Mark Kellar & team have with their local customers, their business has been booming. Because of the quality work their team always produces, their customers are very loyal. Great job!
  • El Paso Branch – our largest branch in the west has also seen an uptick in business for the 2nd Ronnie Brooks and team probably have a 70% market share in El Paso because of their expertise in service, construction, automotive & environmental. They are currently working on two Quick Trips, a Circle K & a Speedway. Awesome work!
  • Albuquerque Branch – has had a great 2nd with all departments (service, construction & electrical) producing solid numbers and really working hard. Murphy’s & Maverik’s have been keeping us extremely busy and we hope this work continues. A little shout out to my hometown team! Great job everyone!

The West Region saw a lot of changes in 2020 as our geographical footprint grew by two states. Mike Garcia and Bill Reichhold were able to close a deal with Circle K which allowed us to move into Arizona and Colorado to service CK Stores. Way to go guys!

  • Tucson Branch – Joe Wright & team are just getting started with this office and it’s showing a lot of potential. We also hope to have an office in Phoenix sometime this year. Keep up the good work AZ team!

From left to right are: Jason Crumb, Joe Wright, & Olando Villiegas

  • Denver Branch – Doug Brown and his five men team are making great strides with this new office. Circle K is extremely happy that we moved into Colorado and they are also really pleased with the crew we have in place. Exciting times for this new branch. Thank you guys and awesome job!
Employee Highlights

These two young ladies were chosen not only because of the duration here at our company, but also for their dedication and the value they bring to D&H United Fueling Solutions.

Sheila Hill

On December 27, 1977, when she was just 19 year old, Sheila started her first day at White’s Pump. It was a Ma & Pa operation with Mr. and Mrs. White running the business along with their two sons Bill & Dale. Bill had his own secretary and Dale decided he needed one, too. He hired Sheila to fill that position. Sheila wore many hats through the years and in 1985 she was promoted to Office Manager. White’s Pump was acquired by D&H Pump in 2000. Sheila is definitely one of the reasons for Lubbock’s continued success.

Sheila and her husband Charles have been married for 40 years and have one son and three grandchildren. Sheila’s hobbies include watching college football & basketball, but mainly watching whatever sports her grandkids (ages 6, 4 & 2) are playing.

Lourdes Valles

On June 20, 1978 when Lou was just 18 years old, she was hired as a receptionist for Calvin Bishop at a small company called D&H Pump Service. Through the years, Lou worked as dispatcher, OTC Sales, A/R, purchasing agent for Petro Truck Stops, Mexico sales rep, HR and eventually became Office Manager.

Lou and her husband Albert have been married for 45 years and have four children and nine grandchildren. Lou’s hobbies include reading, traveling and anything outdoors including golf. Lou says that it’s been a pleasure to work with the employees for all these years and she still learns something new every day. We are lucky to have had Lou on our team all these years.
