Account Spotlight: Growing with EG Group
Tanknology has built strong, long-standing relationships with various companies, including a 20-plus-year partnership with Cumberland Farms. “Our commitment to building lasting partnerships is evident in our long-term relationships with clients like Cumberland Farms,” said Bill Logue, Tanknology Regional Vice President for the Northeast Region, “It’s this dedication that sets us apart in the industry.”
Tanknology also collaborated with multiple Kroger brands across the U.S., aiming to expand market share and streamline operations. This progress was disrupted when EG Group acquired several Kroger brands, such as Kwik Shop, Loaf & Jug, Turkey Hill, Tom Thumb, Quick Stop, Minit Mart, Certified, and Fastrac. Tanknology’s extensive experience with Cumberland Farms and Kroger brands positioned it as a valuable partner for EG Group after these acquisitions.
Following the transition, Tanknology continued working with Kroger’s legacy upper management, now integrated into EG Group. The Tanknology team presented EG with a plan for nationwide 30-day walkthrough inspections of all 858 locations. This initiative was awarded and commenced immediately, filling a critical gap as EG Group decided against using regional contractors or in-house representatives.
Tanknology expanded its core compliance offerings to EG Group, providing national coverage. This relationship deepened further when EG Group purchased long-time client Cumberland Farms. In the first quarter of 2020, Tanknology launched the CMS (Compliance Management System) Program with EG Group, handling all regulatory inspection issues, repairs, testing, retesting, and monthly inspections. The CMS program covered roughly 400 sites, including Tom Thumb (primarily in Florida), Kwik Shop (Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska), Quik Stop (Nevada), and Loaf N Jug (Colorado, Wyoming, the Dakotas, and Montana).
Tanknology also continued to assist with testing for some OWL (Crompco) locations under the OWL umbrella for the Minit Mart sites. A significant part of the relationship’s foundation was built through years of developing and testing Cumberland Farms sites and the commitment of individuals like Bill Logue. Additionally, Tanknology developed a Drum Program and distributed it to select markets, further enhancing its service offerings.
Reflecting on this evolving partnership, Bill Logue stated, “Our long-standing relationships and deep understanding of our clients’ needs have been the cornerstone of our success. We are committed to continuously innovating and expanding our services to support the dynamic requirements of our growing client base.”
The relationship between Tanknology and EG Group has evolved significantly over the years, growing through strategic acquisitions and program developments. This partnership showcases Tanknology’s ability to adapt and expand its services to meet the needs of a dynamic and growing client base.
